Git-git twin waterfall

Gitgit Twin Waterfall, locally known as Air Terjun Campuhan or Gitgit Kembar, is one of the most beautiful and refreshing natural attractions in North Bali. Located near the mountain village of Gitgit in Buleleng Regency, about 20 minutes south of Singaraja and roughly 2–2.5 hours from Denpasar or Ubud, this waterfall is famous for its unique twin streams that flow side by side through lush tropical jungle.

Unlike the main Gitgit Waterfall, the twin waterfall offers a more tranquil and scenic experience. Two powerful cascades plunge down a green cliff into a cool natural pool below, creating a dramatic yet peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by dense rainforest, moss-covered rocks, and the constant sound of flowing water, the area feels wild and untouched β€” perfect for nature lovers and photographers.

The journey to Gitgit Twin Waterfall is part of the adventure. Visitors must walk along a paved village path and then descend through a jungle trail. The trek typically takes around 15–20 minutes one way and passes through clove plantations, small local shops, and scenic forest sections. The path is relatively manageable for most visitors, though comfortable shoes are recommended because some sections can be damp or slightly steep.

As you approach the waterfall, the temperature becomes noticeably cooler, and the sound of rushing water grows louder. The viewing area at the base provides an excellent vantage point to admire the twin cascades. During the rainy season, the flow becomes especially powerful and photogenic, while in the dry season the water remains clear and inviting for a refreshing dip.

Swimming is possible in the natural pool, though visitors should always check water conditions and exercise caution, especially after heavy rain. Many travelers enjoy simply relaxing on the rocks, taking photos, or soaking in the peaceful jungle environment. Compared to southern Bali waterfalls, Gitgit Twin Waterfall is generally less crowded, offering a more authentic nature experience.
