Taman sari waterfall

Taman Sari Waterfall is one of Bali’s hidden natural gems, located in the lush highlands of Bangli Regency, not far from Ubud and the famous Kintamani area. Known for its clean natural pools, layered rock formations, and peaceful jungle surroundings, this waterfall offers a refreshing escape from Bali’s busier tourist spots. Compared to more crowded waterfalls, Taman Sari provides a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for travelers who want to enjoy nature in a quieter setting.

The waterfall features a beautiful cascade flowing over natural rock terraces into a clear pool below. The water is generally gentle, making it suitable for swimming and playing in the shallow areas. Surrounded by tropical greenery, bamboo, and forest vegetation, the setting feels fresh and serene. On sunny days, the light filtering through the trees creates a magical effect over the water, perfect for photography and relaxation.

Reaching Taman Sari Waterfall requires a short but scenic walk from the parking area. Visitors typically follow a paved path and descend a series of steps for about 10–15 minutes. The trek is considered easy to moderate and suitable for most visitors, although comfortable footwear is recommended. Along the way, you will pass local plantations and small village scenery that give a glimpse of rural Balinese life.

One of the highlights of Taman Sari is its natural swimming pool. Many visitors come prepared to get wet and enjoy the cool mountain water. The pool is usually clean and refreshing, especially during the dry season. Because the waterfall is located in a slightly higher elevation area, the air temperature tends to be cooler than in coastal parts of Bali, adding to the pleasant experience.

Facilities at the site are simple but adequate. Visitors can find basic amenities such as toilets, changing rooms, and small local warungs selling drinks and snacks. The area is still relatively natural and less commercialized, which adds to its charm. However, it is recommended to bring small cash for entrance fees and purchases, as card payment is rarely available.
