Tukad cepung waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall is one of the most unique and magical waterfalls in Bali. Located in the village of Tembuku in Bangli Regency, this hidden natural attraction is famous for its stunning waterfall that flows inside a cave-like canyon. Unlike most waterfalls in Bali that are surrounded by open jungle, Tukad Cepung offers a completely different experience where sunlight shines through the cliffs above and creates beautiful rays of light around the waterfall.

The name “Tukad Cepung” comes from the Balinese language. “Tukad” means river, while “Cepung” refers to the unique rock formations that surround the waterfall. These towering cliffs create a circular canyon that feels like a natural cathedral made of stone. When sunlight enters the canyon, it produces dramatic light beams that make the waterfall look almost mystical.

To reach Tukad Cepung Waterfall, visitors must walk down a path from the parking area and follow a short trekking route. The journey takes about 15–20 minutes and involves walking down stairs and along a small river path. Along the way, visitors will pass lush tropical vegetation, rocky paths, and small streams. The walk itself is part of the adventure and allows visitors to enjoy the peaceful natural environment of rural Bali.

As visitors approach the waterfall, they will begin to hear the sound of rushing water echoing through the canyon walls. The final part of the journey involves walking through shallow water and between large rock formations before arriving at the hidden waterfall chamber. When the waterfall finally appears, the view is truly breathtaking.

The waterfall itself cascades gently down from the cliffs above into a shallow pool below. Because it is surrounded by tall rock walls, the area feels quiet and peaceful, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The highlight of visiting Tukad Cepung is the moment when sunlight shines through the opening at the top of the canyon. These light rays illuminate the falling water and create one of the most beautiful photography scenes in Bali.

Due to its unique appearance, Tukad Cepung Waterfall has become one of the most popular photo spots on the island. Photographers and travelers often visit in the morning when the sunlight enters the canyon at the perfect angle. The combination of water, light, and dramatic rock formations creates a stunning natural display.

Although the waterfall is located in a relatively remote area, it has become easier to access in recent years thanks to improved paths and visitor facilities. Local villagers manage the site and provide parking areas, ticket booths, and small shops where visitors can buy drinks or snacks.
